Effervescent Tablet Tube Filling & Capping Machine

Application & Process

The Prism Effervescent Tablet Bottling Machine is specifically designed for packing larger diameter and thinner tablets into bobbin bottles or tubes. The machine consists of several components, including a bobbin bottler hopper and feeder unit, tablet charging hopper, vibrating feeder for tablets, tablet tunnel, tablet loader, tube inverter, cap vibrating feeder, and tube capping unit.

The process begins by charging effervescent tablets into the hopper, which are then fed through a vibratory feeder and directed into a vertical tablet tunnel. The tablets are aligned in rows according to the required quantity and then fed into bobbin bottles or tubes in a single row with overlapping placement. Empty bobbin bottles or tubes are loaded into a hopper, and a cassette-type tube magazine feeds them into the machine. Once the tablets are filled in the bottles or tubes, they are converted to a vertical position and moved to a rotary tablet for capping. Caps are fed onto the head of the tube through a vibrating feeder, and the tube moves below the capping unit to securely cap the bobbin bottles or tubes. The filled and capped bottles or tubes are then discharged via a chute and rotary table.

The machine incorporates advanced PLC controls with an HMI touch screen interface, allowing for centralized process control. Fiber and photoelectric sensors are employed to synchronize all operations, ensuring accurate and efficient performance. Alarms are integrated with the sensors to detect situations such as no tablet, no tube, or no cap, providing prompt alerts for necessary actions. The machine is designed to comply with cGMP requirements and is user-friendly, offering ease of operation.

In summary, the Prism Effervescent Tablet Bottling Machine is specifically designed for efficient and precise packaging of larger diameter and thinner tablets into bobbin bottles or tubes. It features advanced PLC controls, synchronized operations, and compliance with cGMP standards, ensuring reliable and compliant operation for the production of effervescent tablets.

Salient Features

  • The design of the machine complies with cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) standards, ensuring adherence to quality and regulatory requirements. All contact parts are made of AISI 316 stainless steel, with food-grade silicon seals, while non-contact parts are made of AISI 304 stainless steel, ensuring hygiene and durability.
  • The tablet feeding system involves manually charging tablets into the charging hopper, which then pass through a vibrator feeder and tunnel channel. The tablets are fed in rows in a vertical position, ensuring the required quantity.
  • The tube feeding unit requires manual placement of tubes into the hopper. A shaking system automatically sends the tubes to the rack. Before being placed into the hopper, the tube direction should be checked manually.
  • The cap vibrating system involves manually loading caps into the hopper, which are then arranged and placed into the rack for plugging using a vibrating system.
  • A tablet pushing unit, driven by a pneumatic cylinder, pushes the tablets into the tubes.
  • After the tablets are fed into the tubes, a Vacuumized and pneumatic system converts the tubes into a vertical position. The tubes are then moved to a rotary table for capping.
  • The rotary tablet mechanism picks up the tubes using an indexing drive and proceeds with capping and discharging.
  • A cap pushing unit automatically pushes the cap onto the tube when tablets are present. If no tablets are detected or if there are no tubes, the capping process will not occur.
  • The capping head is a rotary type screw capping unit that tightens caps in the tubes with the required torque.
  • The machine is controlled by advanced PLC controls with an HMI touch screen interface. It utilizes cylinders, sensors, and stepper motors, along with an automatic multi-function alarm system.

Safety Features

  • Proximity sensor for the Machine door close feedback.
  • PLC Control with SCADA connectivity 21 CFR Part 11 Compliance.
